Marcel Waldeck and The Stallion Riders present a performance, titled “BURN OUT” at the Premises Gallery on the 24 September. The performance piece involves super bikes (motorbikes) and bikers.

Burn out: rear tire spin.

Marcel Waldeck regards the activity of motor biking as a metaphor of power, freedom and the sublime. Waldeck’s performance with bikes and super bikes, in the gallery, will be a happening that will shift the cultural phenomenon of biking into context of art.

In performance with other bikers, Waldeck will orchestrate burnout drawings to express the association of power and beauty, from the biker’s personal statements in their choice of bikes, to the marks they make on floor-mounted blank slabs. They will be immersing the audience not only in a visually exiting experience but also an excessive high volume sound piece.

The Stallion Riders were established as a bikers club in 1982, by biker Clive Lewis, who has been instrumental in the production of this project.
